How the Sony PlayStation 3 game system evolved …
include("http://www.videogamz.com/ssi/rightcolumn.txt"); ?>
It is quite interesting when an experienced gamer (meaning older then 45! :-) ) takes a glimpse at the new Sony PlayStation 3. To a great extent, the PS3 is something that at one time could only be dreamed about … or you read about something like that in a science fiction novel. Whether you like the PS3 game systems or not, one thing is certain: the advancements in home entertainment game systems in the last two decades have been staggering!
In 1976, the video game system Pong debuted from Atari. The Pong game was nothing more than animated rectangles and squares forming such athletic contests such as hockey, tennis, soccer, etc. While primitive but engaging, Pong’s days as King of the home entertainment heap would not last for long. Progress was coming …
Not too long after the release of Pong, the Atari 2600, Intelivision and Colecovision home gaming systems spelled out the end of Pong. And far a short time, they reigned as Kings of the gaming industry. Then they too where push aside for more modern quicker games systems with astounding graphics.
Today some say that the Sony PlayStation 3 is the new king of the video game industry. The reason for that is that the graphics and advancements that are present within the PS3 system are so far beyond what people had previously seen.
The sound quality of the Sony PS3 system is pretty incredible and it is no surprise that the audio represents a great deal of the motivation in buying a Sony PlayStation 3. The ancient whirring and buzzing noises of 1981’s Atari 2600 have long faded from our memories as the amazing sound quality of the PS3 pushes those old systems to the side.
While the incredible hype around the Sony Play Station 3 was certainly ‘over-the-top,’ the PS3 still deserves credit where credit is due. There will always be PS3 critics and there will always be those who find it hard to find any laws with what is clearly one of the most superior gaming systems ever created.
